KDE4RC2 preview on UbuntuIf you’re eagerly awaiting the release of KDE 4.0 on January 11 and you’re running Ubuntu then get a taste of the next big thing by installing KDE 4.0 release candidate 2 in three easy steps.

1 - Add the KDE 4 repository to your /etc/apt/sources.list file

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

Add deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-members-kde4/ubuntu gutsy main to the bottom of that file. Save

2 - Update your repository list

sudo apt-get update

3 - Install the KDE RC2 files

sudo apt-get install kdebase-bin kdebase-workspace kdebase-kde4 kdebase-runtime

Now all you need to do is log out and choose the KDE4 session next time you log in. Enjoy.
